Brónach Gordon and Nathan Baylis, instructed by Amie Dinan of Duncan Lewis Solicitors, appeared for the applicants in the recently published AY and BY v ZX [2023] EWFC 39.
In his judgment, MacDonald J confirmed that the court could make parental orders where artificial insemination had taken place outside of a licenced clinic, contrasting s54 with other provisions of the HFEA 2008 and utilising official guidance provided to surrogates and intended parents.
