Caroline appears at all levels of the Family Court and has appeared on behalf of the appellant in the Court of Appeal. Caroline has represented parents and local authorities in cases involving inflicted injuries and allegations of sexual abuse. Caroline has undertaken numerous cases with an international element where she has a detailed understanding of the requirements and restrictions of such cases. Caroline also has a wide experience of cases involving immigration and cultural issues and is used to having to conduct proceedings with the assistance of an interpreter.
Caroline successfully appealed, to the Court of Appeal, the refusal of a judge to grant placement orders in respect of 3 siblings, without the assistance of leading counsel. Caroline has recently represented the applicant local authority in a 23 day complex care case. In private law proceedings, Caroline has represented parents and guardians in complex cases. Caroline has also appeared in the Coroner’s Court where she has experience of jury inquests. Caroline has regularly devised and delivered training to solicitors and social workers.
